About Us
The Xperience is an interdenominational Christian community affiliated with Chi Alpha Campus Ministries. We value community & creative worship as we love God, each other, and people that do not know Him. Join us as we explore what Jesus taught and how to allow His teachings to shape who we are and what we do. Wherever you find yourself on your journey through college, there are a number of opportunities for you to connect with other students while growing both intellectually and spiritually here at WMU. If we can do anything to be of assistance, don’t hesitate to let us know.
History
There has been a Chi Alpha ministry present at WMU as far back as the 1970’s. Known for passionate worship and dynamic spirituality, many students, both American and International, have grown in their faith and made lasting friendship that go beyond the college years.
In 2001, we began to explore more in depth what God was calling us to be and do at Western Michigan University. The Xperience was birthed out of those conversations. With “experience reality” as our slogan, we began a journey to become more missional as we opened our lives up to others so they too could experience the reality of God’s kingdom and His great love. We believe that Christians should be real, relevant, and relational. We strive to be these things as we grow into a community that will partner with God to accomplish His mission.
It's now the fall of 2007 and we are excited as the ministry of CCF continues to grow and develop. We are launching Fusion (cell group model) as well as continuing other community and discipleship focused small groups throughout each week. The Xperience will gather on Mondays to celebrate Jesus as we join together to worship as a community. |
